Peers can tell you if it failed their spot check, and if so you double-check the spot which they claim failed and then notify everybody you know about it. That way wrong proofs of work can't get far, and the fixes will inevitably converge on a truly fixed one. Also if you get two diffe16:39

For a given salt, let's say that the locations it generates keys for are (x, y) and (z, w). You put that salt in either (x, w) or (y, z)16:55
