17:08 < andytoshi> rny: depends how much space you have ... i usually recommend 10000 blocks, which is around 2 months and will take around 20 GB of space
17:08 < andytoshi> but that's almost certainly overkill
17:08 < rusty> rny: good q!  There are a few plugins which manage this for you (I don't prune though), including a neat one which will simply go onto the bitcoin network and pull blocks from a peer if necessary.  But I would think if you have a weeks' worth of blocks you'd be OK in practice.
