10:48 < Davterra> Hi, I've tried increasing the misdepth in a wallet using wallet-tool.py and got a message saying max mixdepth =4. Since there is a command to stipulate mixdepth on a wallet, I assume it is doable...must it be done when wallet is first generated, or prior to any mixing activity in the wallet?

13:46 < waxwing> Davterra is gone but answer: indeed that intuition or guess is right. the wallet has to be created with a `-m N` argument to have N mixdepths, where N>5. but, while it's a bit of a limitation, i'd advise people not to try changing this default. it can make syncing wallets difficult, we had some trouble for users with that in the past.
13:49 < waxwing> having said that, note there is a flag -A in tumbler.py to allow you to choose a larger number of mixdepths, and iirc this will work anyway, no matter how many mixdepths the wallet was originally created with. this stuff needs cleaning up really.
