(Or maybe simply "you must route through this node" and the user may approve/deny the higher fee cost) This would allow for prism-like splitting in an atomic manner, the intermediate nodes would simply be paid in the fee.

09:41 < BlueMatt[m]> yes, bolt11 has "route hints" and if the hops in the route hint and the recipient are not in the public route graph the sender has to use that. bolt12 has blinded paths, which removes the private-node requirement, in essence.
