After creating the "alice" container, I create a new address for it with "lncli newaddress np2wkh", then in the next step, when I put in the address, the console responds that there is no such file or directory. Any ideas where I am wrong? 11:24 < flobo> this is what results in that output: MINING+ADDRESS= docker-compose up -d btcd 11:34 -!- Ylbam [uid99779@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-qkvmezpzqcuvofzk] has quit [Quit: Connection closed for inactivity] 11:38 -!- mnkk___ [~mnk4@ip5f5ae92a.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds] 12:00 -!- flobo [8eb142e1@gateway/web/freenode/ip.142.177.66.225] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 12:03 -!- fldf [8eb142e1@gateway/web/freenode/ip.142.177.66.225] has joined #lnd 12:19 -!- fldf [8eb142e1@gateway/web/freenode/ip.142.177.66.225] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 12:52 -!- Ylbam [uid99779@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-zmozikgzsezbdjyz] has joined #lnd 14:04 -!- mnkk___ [~mnk4@ip5f5ae92a.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de] has joined #lnd 14:25 -!- xulf [040ff533@gateway/web/freenode/ip.4.15.245.51] has joined #lnd 14:25 < xulf> hi 14:26 <@roasbeef> xulf: oy 14:27 <@roasbeef> hmm flobo is gone, but would've asked how he was inputting the address 14:27 <@roasbeef> it needs to be done using an envinonment variable 14:27 <@roasbeef> although I have a pending PR to btcd that adds anew setminingaddr command which can be used in place of that onc eit's merged in 14:27 < xulf> think Ill have a lightning app for my phone soon 14:27 <@roasbeef> ooOOo very cool 14:27 <@roasbeef> what kind of app xulf? 14:28 < xulf> for litecoin 14:28 < xulf> litecoin lightning mobile app 14:29 < xulf> that allows me to send a lightning transaction 14:38 <@roasbeef> nice! are you running lnd using the neutrino backend, just using RPC, or another impl all together? 14:58 -!- mnkk___ [~mnk4@ip5f5ae92a.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds] 15:33 -!- belcher [~belcher@unaffiliated/belcher] has quit [Quit: Leaving] 15:39 -!- mnkk___ [~mnk4@ip5f5ae92a.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de] has joined #lnd 15:51 -!- spinza [~spin@196.212.164.26] has quit [Quit: Coyote finally caught up with me...] 16:08 -!- belcher [~belcher@unaffiliated/belcher] has joined #lnd 16:27 -!- mnkk___ [~mnk4@ip5f5ae92a.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 16:27 -!- mnkk [~mnk4@ip5f5ae92a.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de] has joined #lnd 16:31 -!- f4t4l [6326e61a@gateway/web/freenode/ip.99.38.230.26] has joined #lnd 16:31 < f4t4l> hey oh 16:31 < f4t4l> Is there any way to add some btc to the faucet?? 16:34 -!- spinza [~spin@196.212.164.26] has joined #lnd 16:49 -!- mnkk [~mnk4@ip5f5ae92a.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de] has quit [] 17:04 < stevenroose> roasbeef: any news on updating the faucet? 17:04 <@roasbeef> which faucet? 17:04 < stevenroose> lightning faucet @ faucet.lightning.community 17:05 < stevenroose> you told me some weeks ago you were planning to update it to latest version of lnd 17:05 < stevenroose> (you were awaiting a release milestone) 17:06 < stevenroose> (have yet to catch up on lnd GH e-mail tbh :D so I'm out of sync release-wise) 17:06 -!- Ylbam [uid99779@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-zmozikgzsezbdjyz] has quit [Quit: Connection closed for inactivity] 17:11 < stevenroose> roasbeef: 17:13 <@roasbeef> faucet donation fund: 2MvvcivkgQJy45pR3K2ZDJT74jYtYU7MkB1 ;) 17:13 <@roasbeef> yeh had updated it, but it's out of date again due to a breaking change that went in 17:13 <@roasbeef> loading it up with some coins atm, them will restart with the latest version 17:14 <@roasbeef> our next major milestone will be the end of major breaking changes 17:14 <@roasbeef> w.r.t node operation at least 17:14 <@roasbeef> the RPC interface will likely chainge a bit for version 0.4 17:15 < f4t4l> I need to get an asic to mine on the testnet for some testing 17:16 <@roasbeef> that'd be nice :) 17:16 < f4t4l> I havn't done any mining since 12' so it will be an interesting thing to get back into haha 17:17 <@roasbeef> every now and then, the block rate spikes up, but it's pretty typical atm 17:20 < stevenroose> I have an old butterfly labs jalapeno that I could hook up, no idea if it would still be viable, though 17:20 < stevenroose> It's also in my parents home in Belgium, while I live in Spain now 17:21 < stevenroose> (A few years back, I turned it on on mainnet in solo mining mode with the fan slid pointed to myself to keep me warm in the winter. Didn't need to use my central heating. Never found a block, though. Lottery mode.) 17:22 < stevenroose> There was a problem with mining on testnet with btcd, though: the zero-difficulty-after-20mins rule. I was pretty sure at that point someone was mining with mining software aware of that rule, while btcd was not. 17:29 < f4t4l> I remember dropping a thousand bucks on those scrypt usb miners when they first came out 17:29 < f4t4l> I bought like 10 ok those anker 9 port usb 3 hubs for it 17:29 < f4t4l> It was a blast haha 17:30 < f4t4l> I remember butterfly labs haha 17:32 < f4t4l> btw what's yalls opinion on Trezor? I have my BTC and LTC on paper wallets I made years ago and im nervous to move it over to a hardware wallet 17:32 <@roasbeef> btcd is aware of that rule, but it currently won't re-generate the block templates and push them via long polling if that time passes 17:32 <@roasbeef> but if you create the template _after_ that event, it'll have the correct difficulty 17:32 <@roasbeef> there's also things it could do better when realizing work is stale to avoid wasted time 17:51 < stevenroose> roasbeef: yeah I know. it has to know the rule because it's consensus-critical. But I refered indeed to the mining part. It won't update gbt longpolls after the timeout 17:51 < stevenroose> f4t4l: I know the feeling of not wanting to touch your coins :D 17:52 < stevenroose> I moved mine like a year ago to a HW1 (then cheap variant of the ledger) 17:52 < stevenroose> Recently bought a Trezor, but yet have to make the migration. My newly acquired coins are on the trezor, though, works great 17:52 <@roasbeef> stevenroose: yeh i mentioned that 17:54 < stevenroose> What holds me back is that, even though I have a phisical safe private key backup only accessable by close relatives, I wanted to add a passphrase. 17:55 < stevenroose> And I didn't want to migrate to the passphrase without some ppl knowing it. I guess I'm doing it next week, should be trivial. 17:55 < stevenroose> My biggest worry is not the trezor having problems but the HW1 not working with me 17:55 < stevenroose> I used to only get it working on Ubuntu-based distros, not sure I already tried on my Arch here 17:55 <@roasbeef> don't they have that? in the form of the 25th word or w/e? 17:56 < stevenroose> They do. Like the BIP 37(?) spec 17:56 < stevenroose> They call it a 25th word, but it's a regular encryption passphrase 17:57 < stevenroose> I meant the mnemonic code bip, not sure about the number 17:58 < stevenroose> Anyways, I'm off. Don't feel urged to update the faucet, btw, roasbeef, better wait until most breaking changes are done 17:58 < stevenroose> I was just curious 17:59 <@roasbeef> was gonna set up a nightly faucet a bit back, but never got around to it lol 18:00 < stevenroose> I understand, other priorities. I'm more eager for the segwit PR merge, f.e. 18:01 < stevenroose> Great respect for having taken on that undertaking (even though it was a year ago). Must have taken quite some effort to get into Dave 18:01 < stevenroose> 's codebase 18:01 < stevenroose> anyways, off to bed. cheers 18:05 < f4t4l> so my question is are paper wallets still considered safe? 18:07 < f4t4l> Cause according to the bitcoin wiki, they are no longer considered a safe place to store investment levels of coins 18:07 < f4t4l> even with BIP 128 (i think thats the encryption one) 18:10 <@roasbeef> iirc bip38 is the paper wallet encryption? 18:28 < f4t4l> yup yup youre right 19:28 -!- riclas [~riclas@72.210.189.46.rev.vodafone.pt] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 19:29 -!- PaulCapestany [~PaulCapes@ip72-209-228-52.dc.dc.cox.net] has quit [Quit: .] 19:30 -!- PaulCapestany [~PaulCapes@ip72-209-228-52.dc.dc.cox.net] has joined #lnd 19:36 < f4t4l> Peace out beef, i'll be checking back ever so often whenever that big update gets pushed 19:36 < f4t4l> every' 19:36 < f4t4l> thanks for your help again man 20:03 -!- belcher [~belcher@unaffiliated/belcher] has quit [Quit: Leaving] 20:03 -!- belcher [~belcher@unaffiliated/belcher] has joined #lnd 20:21 -!- xulf [040ff533@gateway/web/freenode/ip.4.15.245.51] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 20:39 -!- f4t4l [6326e61a@gateway/web/freenode/ip.99.38.230.26] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
