I showed my dad the Lemino YouTube video of UFOs because I think that is the best summary of the air force contacts with them along with the video footage. The ones on the east coast were subsonic and spherical and in a racetrack pattern. He said usually spheres are for radar testing, so it could be that. The west coast contacts are pretty anomalous and we don’t have a good 18:38 < hprmbridge> Eli> explanation for them. Allegedly they were hypersonic or whatever is beyond hypersonic? 18:41 < hprmbridge> Eli> I guess it goes high hypersonic after Mach 10. And they just list re entry speed after Mach 25 18:44 < hprmbridge> fodagut> fenn: there's a set of congressional representatives and senators that are cranks and fools, sadly 20:19 < gwillen> I'm pretty sure the government has no shortage of cranks and fools, yeah 20:20 < gwillen> the easiest default explanation for apparently hypersonic entities is measurement error, and people like to say "oh no we're real confident it wasn't that" but it was probably that. 20:20 < gwillen> if the thing you're measuring is an artifact, the entity that isn't actually there can have arbitrary apparent properties. 20:22 < gwillen> there are definitely weird atmospheric phenomena that we can't model well, and that probably explains some stuff, but I think it's more likely the weird atmospheric phenomena caused sensor problems than were actually going at hypersonic speeds. Either way, not aliens. 20:25 -!- Gooberpatrol66 [~Gooberpat@user/gooberpatrol66] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 20:31 -!- Gooberpatrol66 [~Gooberpat@user/gooberpatrol66] has joined #hplusroadmap 20:38 -!- justanotheruser [~justanoth@gateway/tor-sasl/justanotheruser] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 20:53 -!- mxz__ [~mxz@user/mxz] has joined #hplusroadmap 20:54 -!- mxz_ [~mxz@user/mxz] has quit [Ping timeout: 252 seconds] 20:55 -!- mxz [~mxz@user/mxz] has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds] 20:55 -!- mxz__ is now known as mxz 21:55 -!- justanotheruser [~justanoth@gateway/tor-sasl/justanotheruser] has joined #hplusroadmap 22:18 -!- Gooberpatrol66 [~Gooberpat@user/gooberpatrol66] has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds] 22:58 -!- Croran [~Croran@user/Croran] has quit [Quit: Lost terminal] 23:00 -!- Croran [~Croran@user/Croran] has joined #hplusroadmap 23:01 -!- mxz_ [~mxz@user/mxz] has joined #hplusroadmap 23:55 < hprmbridge> Eli> It’s an interesting question. I think the ships on the west coast were actually having their radars jammed by the objects which is considered an act of war. So it suggests someone was messing with them --- Log closed Fri Apr 19 00:00:30 2024
