kanzurehm. so first they define A_f as a matrix consisting of values of either -1, 0, or 1, representing whether a chord through variable is "a part of and negative", not a part of at all, or "a part of and positive" (in the same direction) as the defining branch. But then later they show A_f as being a matrix where each value corresponds to one of the five fundamental domains (2 for rotational, 1 for hydraulic, 1 for DC, ..). so I'm confused.07:16
kanzurelater they define it as: "An array whose elements consist of the non-identity matrix portion of the fundamental cutset matrices associated with each domain (refer to Eq. (1))" which looks closer to what I observe in their example of A_f filled out07:18
kanzurewhat is a "non-identity matrix portion" (emphasis on portion)? does that mean you insert a diagonal line of 1's into the matrix they give you? or what?07:19
kanzurepapers-backup-2009-06-02.tar is uploading at 9.3 KB/sec. I don't think this is working.07:21

wrldpcIt astounds me how disconnected the DIYBio and Xhumanist groups are.15:24
kanzure-yeah really15:24
kanzure-I'm one of the most frequent posters for the transhumanist mailing lists15:24
kanzure-and yet they just ignore me or something?15:24
kanzure-I just had a long rant about this with fenn15:25
wrldpcAs far as I know I'm the only one who attends both DIYBio and Xhumanist events in my area.15:25
kanzure-you should post that on diybio15:26
kanzure-I think others might be interested in hearing that15:26
wrldpcThey seem a perfect fit ... DIY Bio is like the ignorant radical arm of the larger Xhumanist movement ...  I'd like to know what a biologist would think about AI ... probably mutate into a bioinformatics convo.  I spoke with Aubrey about what he thought DIY Bio could lend in terms of resources or insight to SENS and he said "not much."  But I'm wondering what kind of equipment would really be necessary to do something pi15:29
wrldpcIn fact ... DIY Bio might be the REAL Xhumanism.15:29
