JayDuggerThank you for the link, Utopiah.03:44
JayDuggerWhat does the phrase "Revision controlled community edited config files" mean on slide 31?03:47
JayDuggerI don't see how that involves the presentation's context.03:48
UtopiahId guess they put wiki.conf in a code repository03:48
Utopiahrather pratical when you add a lot of plugins and tweak them03:48
JayDuggerYeah, okay. How does that help bots?03:48
Utopiahactually wait the best way is to check on Wikipedia bots they have Discussion pages that are usually used just for that03:49
JayDuggerOh. Thanks. I had no idea.03:49
JayDuggerHave you any examples?03:49
Utopiah1min03:49
Utopiahwell it's not very clear but I can't find the other bot I thought about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Using_the_bot03:53
Utopiahso imagine that the bot wiki user page lists patterns that you others users can edit03:54
Utopiah(you can use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_bots to check for more details)03:54
Utopiahwell I guess there should be an actual link to SNPedia bot, no?03:54
JayDuggerAh, okay. That makes sense of the 'by humans for bots' quadrant in the diagram.03:54
JayDuggerHow did you find the presentation?03:57
UtopiahIm following Markus Krötzsch on identi.ca and he mentioned a related SMW Fall 2010 presentation03:58
JayDuggerThank you for mentioning it. I took advantage of 23andMe's sale in May, but the results haven't seemed a pressing concern. I might try it with promethease.03:59

Juulah11:13
kanzureand someone did a cdrom-based .. uh.. machine that spins a surface so that the coating on it is at an even height of a few micrometers11:13
kanzurewhat is that machine called? a coat spinner?11:13
Juulhm, not sure, a spin molder does that11:14
Juulthough with more than a thickness in micrometers11:14
kanzuresomething like that :)11:15

Juulanyway, i think i'll try to build one11:27
Juuli noticed that at least some pioneer drives are very easy to open up and strip down, so I was thinking i'd use our reprap to print some eppendorf tube holders and glue them to a cd, then measure RPM on a modern 52x drive and see if I can get it up to 10.000 and control RPM speed through software11:31
kanzuremake a protective barrier around the contraption before you test11:32
Juulyeah, the dremelfuge looked kinda dangerous11:32
Juulit should be easy to protect this one, just a pot with something heavy on top11:33
