kanzureok i've settled on arghparser09:00
foucistkanzure: for parsing what09:10
kanzurearghparser is a wrapper around argparse for python command line parsing09:28

delinquentmeuniqanomaly, thanks for the heads up on the human metabolic pathways11:55
delinquentmekanzure, so seriously whos making the big progress in aging research?11:56
uniqanomalyjust and idea but I think it can have really enormous applications11:57
uniqanomalycan/will11:57
delinquentmei just looked up the article and the girl thiel sponsored for 100g ... but I think its gonna need to be a bit more than that... her name is " Laura Deming "11:57
uniqanomalydelinquentme: especially in the world where human experimentation is illegal ;)11:58
delinquentmeuniqanomaly, i got a little sister im volunteering11:59
delinquentmeand a puppy11:59
delinquentmeoh, wait..11:59
uniqanomalydelinquentme: ok but I mean like testing *any possible* chemical compound12:00
delinquentmeTyrant_, so im looking at this Gilson machine you were talking about .. definitely seems a little more robust... The focus of the one i built was around an open protocol ... as in i wanted it to be able to "teather" up against another machine and have that machine run it12:00
uniqanomalysomething goes wrong, you reset simulation and start again with something else12:00
uniqanomalywell, you can even test combinations of drugs12:00
uniqanomalylike 5 drugs acting on different stuff12:01
delinquentmeuniqanomaly, so this is kind of like ... take model of human ... endocrine system?  toss a few drugs into the model12:01
delinquentmeand using physical / chemical models12:01
uniqanomalyyeah12:01
delinquentmeattempt to predict the effects12:01
delinquentmederp not endocrine system .. but yeah biological system12:02
uniqanomalysimulating different feedbacks etc12:02
uniqanomalyand you can do with it anything as far as human related biological knowledge goes without limitations of human testing12:04
delinquentmeuniqanomaly, just out of curiosity .. for the model to represent an actual human model correctly .. wouldnt we need to test it on one ?12:37
delinquentmeor are we just talking about chemical reactions which we've studied sufficiently indepth that they're kind of .. standard / static chemical reactions?12:38
uniqanomalyyou can use actual know data as tests for systems reaction13:00
uniqanomalyknown*13:00
uniqanomalyof course it won't be 100% accurate human model from start13:01
uniqanomalyyou add more and more stuff thats missing and at some point you supposedly get results very similar to actual drug action13:02

Tyrant_delinquentme, sorry I was afk. I'll be making mine with an open interface as well but mine is geared more towards reducing the cost of the equipment for biotechs16:39
Tyrant_thats why im going for the three axis gantry16:39
Tyrant_What was the accuracy on your LH001 liquid wise?16:39
delinquentmeuntested16:39
delinquentmei was aiming for .1 uL16:40
Tyrant_ah. how did you pump the liquid?16:40
delinquentmeperistaltic pump with pull compression16:40
delinquentmebad idea16:40
-!- Tyrant_ is now known as Tyrant16:40
delinquentmedo direct compression16:40
delinquentmei mean sandwitch that tube between two hard objects16:40
delinquentmei swear to god to get it pump it took like 100 lbs of force16:40
TyrantI'm looking at using a linear actuator pumping a glass tube ala tecans16:41
Tyrantactuators with .1mm precision are pretty cheap and using a sealed piston gives you great control16:42
-!- devrandom [~devrandom@gateway/tor-sasl/niftyzero1] has joined ##hplusroadmap16:46
delinquentmeTyrant, yeah my design off the biotek liquid handler peristaltic pump was bc i thought it was novel17:07
delinquentmeand if you want really cheap .. you can go with regular syringes17:08
Tyrantdelinquentme, cheap but difficult to control and not as long lasting17:33
delinquentmeyeah just a suggestion .. i was looking at the pumps used in tecans as well17:37
delinquentmehowever i did have a really big question as to how the "flow thru" technology actually removed all the biological particulate17:37
delinquentmebasically they some how wash and blow out the pipette tips which allow them to jump between different substances17:38
delinquentmeAND if you want to get REALLYYY nuts17:38
delinquentme....17:38
delinquentmehttp://www.labcyte.com/Acoustic_Droplet_Ejection_ADE/Default.270.html17:39
delinquentmethe technical term for this is "the tits"17:39
delinquentmeaka AED .. AKA acoustic droplet ejection17:39
delinquentmeTyrant, ^^ hah17:44
kanzurehttp://www.letsremake.info/PDFs/inflatocookbook.pdf18:03
TyrantYou mean for their fixed tips?18:03
Tyrantdelinquentme, I'm going to just add in the feature to pick up and drop disposable tips18:04
delinquentmeTyrant, yeah but what about high volume18:05
Tyranthow high?18:06
Tyranthaving a system that flushes if necessary isn't too difficult18:06
Tyrantill figure that out once the major functions are working18:07
Tyrantright now my linear stage is giving me a lot of trouble. off the shelf stepper controllers kinda suck18:07
delinquentmewhat're u using?18:31
delinquentmeso im thinking they have flow through of liter capacity18:41
delinquentmebut the magic is in how does flushing it ... make it sterile .. or pretty close to sterile?18:42
delinquentmei dont know ?18:42
