andytoshimorning kanzure04:21
FourFirekanzure, what feature of bitcoin is most important for the transhumanist agenda?04:23
technologicleeThank you @Kanzure . Do you know what version of Fedora NE-1 was packaged for? https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/nanoengineer-dev/fedora/nanoengineer-dev/HZR3famM48o/joNuzj7cU4kJ I am about to try it on Fedora 22-3 in Virtual Box.04:23
andytoshiFourFire: that ownership and transfer are defined entirely algorithmically04:26
FourFireYes that is what i expected.04:28

kanzureyes i have a backup of the ne1 wiki somewhere19:03
kanzurei have the dependencies in one folder on a server somewhere19:04
kanzurehttp://diyhpl.us/~bryan/irc/nanoengineer/dependencies/19:04
kanzurethere you go19:04
technologicleeKanzure, excellent. Let's make a package.19:04
technologicleeKanzure, thank you.19:04
kanzurethere was a .dmg for macosx that seems to work out-of-the-box19:05
technologicleeHey, I was expecting the wiki, this is a gold mine!19:06
technologicleeOK, I do not know about Mac. I have a .dmg downloaded. My focus will be making a .deb.19:07
technologicleeMy first try was to use alien to convert the Fedora .rpm to a .deb. It says ".src.rpm is for architecture i386 ; the package cannot be built on this system". Now I will read about packaging. I would like to get this submitted as an official package.19:39
technologicleeI used alien --help and man alien then a google search about the architecture. It generated a .deb What is the best way to test this? Last time I would stumble about then reinstall my whole system to try again. I will try Ubuntu 7.04 in virtual box.19:48

dingolets see here20:53
dingoohh shucks i need to bugfix paperbot to use it, huh20:53
dingowe're still at that state20:53
dingotechnologiclee: you can use 'rpm2cpio <file> | cpio -id' (i think its -id, check the manual)20:54
dingowhich extracts the rpm to its raw bits20:54
dingoyou can construct a .deb from those raw bits using fpm maybe20:54
dingoi'm sure such a tool exists, also20:54

technologicleeDingo, thanks for the tips.20:55
dingoas far as testing, well, if you're using the package manager, i just do a 'dpkg-query --list' command, save it to "packages.unmodified"20:56
dingoand then you can uninstall the package, and its declared dependencies later, by identifying the difference using command, 'diff <(dpkg-query --list) packages.unmodified'20:57

dingountil there is no difference, to reset to your original state20:57
dingobut files sloppily installed by 'make install' commands are not handled here20:57
dingoin such cases, you can use the same technique, but by using 'find /usr -type f > /tmp/usr.unmodified'20:58
dingoand then pipe the | grep '^+' or | grep '^-' to an awk and an xargs rm :)20:58
dingowe'll call it dingo's least preferred but always available package installation technique20:58
dingobut i came here for paperbot20:59
