02:19 < salvatoshi> I think there is enough difference in scope to justify keeping the two concepts separate. Descriptors are more flexible/powerful, while limiting the supported features in wallet policies is by design.
02:20 < salvatoshi> (collections of) descriptor model arbitrary collections of sequences of scripts, while wallet policies represent what a typical software wallet considers an "account". If you generalize it further, the semantic equivalence breaks.
