It validates using the accumulator though so if we now remove the leveldb utxo set and add pruning its actually compact 08:55 < adiabat> article about utreexo with a cool picture anyway https://medium.com/interdax/utreexo-compressing-fully-validating-bitcoin-nodes-4174d95e0626 08:55 < adiabat> hm they are pretty optimistic: "Developers will eventually incorporate it into Bitcoin Core" ... hope so hah 09:15 < dergoegge> is there any conceptual review on utreexo from some of the more active core devs? i guess there is no BIP and no reference PR so probably not 09:19 < ja> dergoegge: maybe Cory Fields has an opinion since he did that c++ thing 09:23 < ja> dergoegge: they spelt your surname Goggë :O people need to learn more german... 09:27 < dergoegge> lol, yeah its also always fun to hear it pronounced in english. guge? joje? george? 10:45 -!- adiabat [~adiabat@63.209.32.102] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 11:17 -!- adiabat [~adiabat@63.209.32.102] has joined #utreexo 11:52 -!- nicolas_ [~nicolas@c-73-16-71-87.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] has joined #utreexo 11:52 < nicolas_> hello 12:19 < adiabat> nicolas_: hi! 12:21 < nicolas_> The docs on github says :"To try utreexo you do not need to run a server as we have a server set up for testing purposes which the client connects to by default". When i try to run the client, it tries to connect by default to localhost. (I compiled the client from source). What is the ip and port of the testing server? 12:22 < adiabat> right, the server is only hardcoded into the "release" version on github 12:22 < nicolas_> ah i see thanks 12:22 < adiabat> I think the current version of the code won't talk to that server anymore 12:23 < adiabat> it's 35.188.186.244.. hope it's still running :) 12:25 < nicolas_> it's running but there is a bug :( 12:25 < nicolas_> Deserialize error from connection 35.188.186.244:8338 readScript: transaction input signature script is larger than the max allowed size [count 5325260286192517119, max 33554432] 12:28 < adiabat> is that with a current build or the old release version? 12:28 < adiabat> current builds are talking a pretty different protocol so I'd expect something like that 12:29 < adiabat> we could put out a new release & update that server I guess 12:29 < adiabat> I think it's a bunch faster now, might be interesting to compare 12:30 < nicolas_> I am running the latest code on master commit 1a03a98e9424108d4a22f15dd6f581b8b906009d 12:31 < nicolas_> I guess the server might be outdated... 12:32 -!- nicolas_ [~nicolas@c-73-16-71-87.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] has quit [Quit: nicolas_] 12:33 -!- nicolas_ [~nicolas@c-73-16-71-87.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] has joined #utreexo 13:05 < dergoegge> Yeah a lot has changed since the demo release.
