18:08 < ryanofsky> re: "automatically include the bootstrapped files", personally i think it's an improvement to NOT include bootstrapped files
18:09 < ryanofsky> bootstrapping in some git checkouts and not bootstrapping in tarball downloads just adds an unnecessary new build variant to support, imo
18:10 < ryanofsky> cory likes generated files for reasons i don't understand, which is fine
18:11 < ryanofsky> and traditionally generated files were seen as good practice because you could distribute sources that worked on weird unixes and didn't require gnu tools
18:11 < ryanofsky> but that seems like an ancient historical practice at this point
18:14 < ryanofsky> any case whatever you / cory want to do with autotools build is fine with me, just wanted to clarify i thought merged change was basically good
