The RPC command takes timestamps as metadata to the descriptors. But I agree with sipa that that info should not be part of the descriptor language itself. Descriptor language is strictly about describing outputs whereas time-to-scan is a user preference. 14:30 < hugohn> https://github.com/achow101/bitcoin/pull/4/files#diff-522490d83dce5375d423b23886e4125eR1700 for the WIP rescanning logic, it's pretty much a mirror of importmulti (compute the lowest timestamp then scan from there) 14:33 -!- justanotheruser [~justanoth@unaffiliated/justanotheruser] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 14:43 < ariard> hugohn: thanks, yes not necessarily part of descriptors language just something easy to backup for users and easy to parse if it has rescan range/gap 14:47 -!- jfredett1 [~jfredett@141.98.102.243] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 15:16 -!- dviola [~diego@unaffiliated/dviola] has quit [Quit: WeeChat 2.5] 15:22 -!- justanotheruser [~justanoth@unaffiliated/justanotheruser] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 15:26 -!- davterra [~none@195.242.213.120] has quit [Quit: Leaving] 15:37 < fanquake> midnightmagic: no macOS Toolchain updates yet 15:44 -!- justanotheruser [~justanoth@unaffiliated/justanotheruser] has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds] 15:56 < midnightmagic> :-/ 16:11 -!- justanotheruser [~justanoth@unaffiliated/justanotheruser] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 16:14 -!- dviola [~diego@unaffiliated/dviola] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 16:15 -!- DeanGuss [~dean@gateway/tor-sasl/deanguss] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 16:16 -!- DeanGuss [~dean@gateway/tor-sasl/deanguss] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 16:21 -!- DeanGuss [~dean@gateway/tor-sasl/deanguss] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 16:23 -!- dgfhdfg [~hgfdfgh@188.120.116.60] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 16:23 -!- ryufghj [~hgfdfgh@77.243.23.147] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 16:24 < fanquake> midnightmagic: It’s a WIP though, theres a PR open.
