09:49 < sipa> sdaftuar: though i guess a full index merge would be even better? 09:49 < sipa> or do you need to individually modify the entries anyway before re-inserting 09:49 < sipa> cfields: yes, across containers (of the same type) 09:49 < sdaftuar> sipa: not sure i know what exactly what that would look like, since you have to figure out where each entry goes in the new multi_index anyway? 09:49 < sdaftuar> but sure, i have it in a loop right now 09:50 < sdaftuar> so if there's something equal-or-more-efficient to doing it in one batch merge call, then great. 09:50 < sipa> i could imagine that some benefit could be had by doing the inserting in order (but it would inevitably only be in the order of one of the indexes anyway, so ...) 09:53 < cfields> hmm, yes, it'd be just for that one. and not sure I could do much better since each one needs to be checked for violations of all other indexes anyway. 09:53 < sipa> right 09:54 < cfields> I'll have a think on it. thanks. 09:56 < laanwj> achow101: haven't seen any failures, but im not building with multiprocess at the moment so it's probably skipping that one 09:57 <@achow101> laanwj: yeah, the default doesn't build multiprocess. i've been using --preset=dev-mode which builds everything, including multiprocess 09:57 -!- dermoth [~dermoth@user/dermoth] has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds] 09:58 -!- mode/#bitcoin-core-dev [-o achow101] by ChanServ 10:01 < laanwj> oh that's good to know 10:26 -!- Talkless [~Talkless@mail.dargis.net] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 10:40 -!- zzz123 [~zzz123@user/zzz123] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 11:22 < bitcoin-git> [bitcoin] laanwj opened pull request #31141: doc: Make list of targets in depends README consistent (master...2024-10-depends-platforms) https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/31141 11:27 -!- SpellChecker [~SpellChec@user/SpellChecker] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 11:27 -!- ghost43_ [~ghost43@gateway/tor-sasl/ghost43] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 11:28 -!- SpellChecker [~SpellChec@user/SpellChecker] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 11:28 -!- ghost43 [~ghost43@gateway/tor-sasl/ghost43] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 11:43 -!- Artea [~Lufia@vps.artea.ovh] has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds] 11:46 -!- zzz123 [~zzz123@user/zzz123] has quit [Quit: Client closed] 11:47 -!- zzz123 [~zzz123@user/zzz123] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:00 -!- zzz123 [~zzz123@user/zzz123] has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds] 12:00 -!- zzz123 [~zzz123@user/zzz123] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:02 -!- dodo [~dodo@user/dodo] has quit [Quit: dodo] 12:03 -!- dodo [~dodo@user/dodo] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:11 -!- Talkless [~Talkless@mail.dargis.net] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 12:11 -!- Artea [~Lufia@artea.pt] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:15 -!- ghost43 [~ghost43@gateway/tor-sasl/ghost43] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 12:15 -!- SpellChecker [~SpellChec@user/SpellChecker] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 12:15 -!- Artea [~Lufia@artea.pt] has quit [Quit: ZNC 1.8.2 - https://znc.in] 12:15 -!- SpellChecker [~SpellChec@user/SpellChecker] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:15 -!- ghost43 [~ghost43@gateway/tor-sasl/ghost43] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:18 -!- Artea [~Lufia@artea.pt] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:27 -!- kevkevin [~kevkevin@209-242-39-30.rev.dls.net] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 12:27 -!- abubakarsadiq [uid602234@id-602234.hampstead.irccloud.com] has quit [Quit: Connection closed for inactivity] 12:29 < bitcoin-git> [bitcoin] mzumsande opened pull request #31142: test: fix intermittent failure in p2p_seednode.py, don't connect to random IPs (master...202410_seednode_error) https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/31142 12:49 < laanwj> could do a full build w/ depends and --preset=dev-mode successfully 12:50 -!- kevkevin [~kevkevin@209-242-39-30.rev.dls.net] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:53 < sipa> i couldn't get multiprocess to work last time i tried, so i've been using --preset=dev-move -DWITH_MULTIPROCESS=OFF (the presets just select defaults, you can override parts) 12:55 -!- kevkevin [~kevkevin@209-242-39-30.rev.dls.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds] 12:56 -!- kevkevin [~kevkevin@209-242-39-30.rev.dls.net] has joined #bitcoin-core-dev 12:56 < achow101> i think i just updated gcc, maybe there's an incompatibility 12:57 < achow101> gcc (GCC) 14.2.1 20240910 12:57 < zzz123> feedback request: https://asciinema.org/a/666653 - is the frog overkill?
