10:32 < BlueMatt[m]> rust-bitcoin is pretty low level. you could in theory hook it up to a local bitcoind by implementing the bitcoin protocol, or you could fetch the data from a server somehow
10:32 < BlueMatt[m]> you probably want bdk, though, which builds higer-level logic out of rust-bitcoin, including logic to connect to peers on the standard bitcoin protocol, speaking to electrum servers, etc.
