Then test binary in languate A is the same as binary in language B if for all inputs the binarys provide the exact same outputs. Although maybe this is impossible for something like consensus if the inputs and outputs are infinite or not well defined. 05:27 < andytoshi> yeah, the problem is that they're infinite 05:27 < andytoshi> you can use the entire blockchain, and testnet, as a test harness 05:28 < andytoshi> and it won't be enough 05:28 < andytoshi> even though every historic consensus fault in bitcoin-ruby, btcd, etc., has been tested there 10:11 -!- salvatoshi [~salvatosh@genymobile-2-6-86.fib.nerim.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds] 13:57 -!- andytoshi [~apoelstra@user/andytoshi] has quit [Quit: leaving] 14:25 -!- andytoshi [~apoelstra@user/andytoshi] has joined #bitcoin-rust 14:29 -!- salvatoshi [~salvatosh@lfbn-idf3-1-1331-187.w92-170.abo.wanadoo.fr] has joined #bitcoin-rust 15:02 -!- salvatoshi [~salvatosh@lfbn-idf3-1-1331-187.w92-170.abo.wanadoo.fr] has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds] 16:17 -!- trev [~trev@user/trev] has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds] 16:19 -!- trev [~trev@user/trev] has joined #bitcoin-rust 16:45 -!- trev [~trev@user/trev] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 22:02 -!- trev [~trev@user/trev] has joined #bitcoin-rust --- Log closed Fri Mar 17 00:00:13 2023
