Could have something to do with them. 11:39 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] what should i be using? 11:39 < pigeons> I would use a local bitcoin core 11:40 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] i'd love to but not enough disk space on my SSD 11:40 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] and my connection is too slow to keep up with the blockchain 11:40 < pigeons> ok. we'll see if someone notices the problem. My guess is some temporary issue with blockr 11:42 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] i've also noticed after trying to run the tumbler 3 times today is that the transaction time estimate is way off, it estimates 2 hours and takes 10 and then crashes. same issue you think? 11:43 < pigeons> it can be off depending on how long confirmations are taking 11:45 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] ok thanks for your analysis. so generally speaking, are there people having luck running this reliably with blockr, or is bitcoin core really more or less a requirement to get stability 11:46 < pigeons> It's generally reliable, but with blockr, I don't know. As you know many people run joinmarket to add a little privacy and that is in conflict with telling a 3rd party your transactions, so I expect maybe less people use blockr but I don't know. 11:47 < pigeons> I understand your point about needing the resources to run core 11:47 < pigeons> i think someone well will have more info regarding blockr 11:49 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] ok, understood 11:50 < waxwing> eurosend yeah from the log blockr is just not sending back the utxo data that you need. not sure what determines how reliable it is, but that's what happened there. 11:52 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] hi waxwing, howz it going? nice to see a familiar face. is blockr potentially blocking Tor or VPN ips? 11:53 < waxwing> interesting, not sure. i noted that blockr is accessible over Tor 11:53 < waxwing> not HS, just plain Tor + https 11:53 < waxwing> blockchaininfo's hidden service never responded for me 11:53 < waxwing> as for VPN, don't know 12:00 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] hmm, well it crashed multiple times in the last 2 days, usually about 5-7 hrs into the process, it's much slower than it's own estimates, it ties up resources while it's running, I tried using both VPN and Tor router connections, no difference essentially. I'm close to giving up trying to use tumbler.py. I don't know what else to try at this point. 12:03 -!- mkarrer [~mkarrer@142.red-83-47-107.dynamicip.rima-tde.net] has quit [] 12:06 < waxwing> always the same error? 12:06 -!- mkarrer [~mkarrer@142.red-83-47-107.dynamicip.rima-tde.net] has joined #joinmarket 12:08 < waxwing> btw not that it's a particularly enticing idea, but you can do it manually; see bullet list in https://github.com/JoinMarket-Org/JoinMarket-Docs/blob/master/High-level-design.md#the-tumbler-script for a simple explanation 12:08 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] i guess i should post my logs? just run scrub-log.py? 12:08 < waxwing> i only mention it because you said at one point that you were able to do individual transactions OK 12:08 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] sudo python scrub-log.py logfilename.log ? 12:08 < waxwing> yeah scrub-log.py and send to me or belcher_ is a good idea 12:09 < waxwing> yeah 12:09 < waxwing> i don't think you need sudo do you? 12:09 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] if i just run the scrubber without specifying a log filename will it clean all the log files in the logs directory? 12:10 < waxwing> i don't think so, let me check 12:10 < waxwing> no just one log 12:11 <+JM-IRCRelay> [eurosend] answering your earlier question, yes, i was able to run standard coinjoin sends from the GUI wallet twice no problem. 12:24 < fluffypony> https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcluster-tracks-bitcoin-usage/ 12:25 < fluffypony> open source 12:26 < waxwing> github is empty, took a quick look earlier 12:26 < waxwing> i tend to take that journalist a bit less seriously since he claimed joinmarket was used for the shapeshift coins when it wasn't :) 12:27 < fluffypony> lol 12:28 < waxwing> apparently it was perklin(?) and his "forensic team" that worked that out somehow; i'm presuming it's just the one 315btc address that was quoted 12:28 < waxwing> 1LchKFYxkugq3EPMoJJp5cvUyTyPMu1qBR 12:29 < waxwing> article was https://news.bitcoin.com/shapeshift-hack-funds-move/ 12:30 < waxwing> ah as usual belcher_ has more patience than me and commented on the article. and of course no correction. 13:44 -!- molz [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has joined #joinmarket 13:46 -!- moli [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds] 16:43 -!- fqtw_ is now known as fqtw 16:53 -!- Giszmo1 [~leo@ppp-83-171-187-230.dynamic.mnet-online.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 258 seconds] 17:02 -!- Giszmo [~leo@ppp-83-171-187-230.dynamic.mnet-online.de] has joined #joinmarket 18:18 -!- fqtw_ [~me@x5d806fbb.dyn.telefonica.de] has joined #joinmarket 18:22 -!- fqtw [~me@xd932504d.dyn.telefonica.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds] 18:32 -!- Giszmo1 [~leo@ppp-83-171-184-80.dynamic.mnet-online.de] has joined #joinmarket 18:33 -!- Giszmo [~leo@ppp-83-171-187-230.dynamic.mnet-online.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 276 seconds] 19:19 -!- moli [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has joined #joinmarket 19:21 -!- molz [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds] 20:05 -!- dee-vee [~dv@root-core.org] has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds] 20:13 -!- achow101 [~achow101@pool-108-2-58-173.phlapa.fios.verizon.net] has joined #joinmarket 20:14 -!- dee-vee [~dv@root-core.org] has joined #joinmarket 20:28 -!- achow101 [~achow101@pool-108-2-58-173.phlapa.fios.verizon.net] has quit [Quit: Leaving] 21:22 -!- moli [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 21:39 -!- moli [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has joined #joinmarket 22:32 -!- moli [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 22:48 -!- moli [~molly@unaffiliated/molly] has joined #joinmarket 22:56 -!- fqtw_ is now known as fqtw 23:30 -!- nanasho [~nanasha25@host-188-174-248-58.customer.m-online.net] has joined #joinmarket
