00:27 < waxwing> the following measures exist: there are 2 and it's redundant (only one is needed to operate). you can connect over Tor or clearnet. you can configure any meeting point IRC server, not limited to 2, any N. reconnects automatically with exponential backoff.
00:28 < waxwing> all that exists, but finding other servers requires letting others know. i spent ages trying to get hold of any other IRC server (public) that supports connecting over Tor, despite people constantly telling me there were lots of them, I never found one that could realistically/easily be used.

00:28 < waxwing> also, to reimplement the messaging on another (non-IRC) server is just a matter of writing implementations of 4 functions, it's all set up in the code (and has been for years), but again, nobody's done it, so that's just theoretical.

08:01 < waxwing> sangaman, thanks for the data point. one thing i've noticed over the last year or two is, indeed, connecting over Tor HS seems to be *less* flaky than over clearnet. at least for those IRC servers, anyway.

08:48 < waxwing> ok so if anyone else does this in future: tip: if you run our transactions through oxt.me it will usually show N/A for entropy because it doesn't calculate for things with > 12 inputs or outputs (which is probably about 75% of ours i guess). but they have a command line tool if you care to find out.
