08:56 < qubenix> in regards to openvz, it's a common host for lowend boxes that doesn't allow the vms to upgrade their kernel. so you end up stuck on an ancient kernel that the host is running. in that case you can build a more recent tor version from source typically.

11:35 < waxwing> it seems like something has changed .. i keep getting disconnected immediately on channel join, from darkscience onion host. very occasionally it successfully connects. this is weird.
12:10 < qubenix> waxwing: i think darkscience's onion has a misconfiguration currently. when i just tried to connect via hexchat i got disconnected with an error about too many connections from my host (127.0.0.1). i'll try to contact someone via their clearnet
