10:18 < fltrz> for contact tracing, here in belgium a bottleneck turned out to be the time that elapses between taking a swab and getting the result (during which a persons known contacts aren't quarantined yet), most of that time turns out to be simply waiting for the daily sending of test samples from the hospital to the central testing places, so they changed it to twice daily sending and were considering more frequent... seems to me like they could easily
10:18 < fltrz> collaborate with the railways, give the samples in a locked box to a responsible conductor who hands it over to a colleague at the station of the city were a central lab is, and they pick up every hour / few hours, and the central labs have copies of the keys to unlock the boxes
10:19 < fltrz> the boxes follow a similar way back (and can be sent less frequently but in larger number)
10:20 < fltrz> the train would need a locked compartment to place the samples while the conductor is doing his usual tasks, but I assume trains already have such compartments, if not on specific carriages then at least with the driver
10:21 < fltrz> the faster the contact tracers know the result the faster they can progress to the next generation of patients
10:22 < fltrz> and the less time the virus has to spread since affected people are ordered to self quarantine earlier
