10:02 < Llamamoe> So like, any hypnosis you can find through the normienet seems like snake oil in fact, but there's really a LOT of actual literature on it as well

10:04 < Llamamoe> superkuh: I do have a pair of papers on neural correlates of hypnosis in fact. Some other stuff I skimmed earlier today suggests that it is in fact accompanied by real effects as would be elicited by "real" stimuli
10:04 < Llamamoe> E.g. one paper did fMRI on the application of hypnosis to perceive either grayscale or color images as grayscale or color, and found that brain network activation mirrored the suggestion more closely than the physical reality
