15:00 < xaete[m]1> oh and also there exist prep and anal forms of hplc. prep hplc exists for early stage chem (lets say u have compound and u just wanna quickly sep the layers iirc) but it also exists for like. oligonucleotides and proteins where other forms of purification wont work

15:13 < streety> A fair point xaete[m]1 - I was thinking how for proteins a HPLC is often used on enzymatic digests, perhaps before a mass spec. As a destructive technique it's not a preparative tool. Small molecules don't have the same issue and might be useful. In the context of the proposals document, perhaps for oligonucleotides.

16:39 < lsneff> Still stuck on how to make the electrode array. I'm thinking a photoconductive layer on top of a transparent conductive layer (biased to some voltage) over a very bright LCD/OLED screen might do the trick.
