16:15 < jeremyrubin> but i think there *is* one reason to add OP_FALSE OP_IF OP_ENDIF, so maybe I can convince you... it's often times very handy to include "on chain metadata" for a miniscript fragment, since you can use that to do things like e.g. spending this branch reveals a preimage someone else is looking for

20:44 < jeremyrubin> sort of, those are more inefficient because those require _verifying_ said preimage is provided. If you just want the preimage to be available for someone to observe, comitting to the image is wasteful. I could see writing, minimally, OR(older(0),H(x)) or something to get dissatisfiable fragment cheaply
