Chris Stewart emailed me this morning because he thought he found a vulnerablity in the library with his scala binding property testing-- in reality the issue was just that he wasn't aware that same-key+same-message=same-nonce and his tester's random messages were potentially very short and sometimes duplicates. ... but my initial reaction on the report
15:25 < gmaxwell> wasn't "he probably messed up the test" it was "oh god, the jni binding is broken", which reveals that I'm not terribly confident.  If the report was about the C interface or (say) the rust bindings, I would have jut assumed the caller was busted until convinced otherwise.

15:31 < sipa> regarding JNI... i suspect none of the active contributors to the project are Java specialists, though the bindings aren't too hard to read
15:32 < gmaxwell> I think the recent PR for the jni bindings where it was confusing an array and reference made me concerned that no C programmer has carefully reviewed the bindings.
