LND recently merged a PR where they will create ECDSA signatures with RFC6979 nonces for keys they also plan to use with taproot (and musig2). I pointed them to the section in BIP340 that specifically mentions deterministic nonce reuse across signing algorithms but they're not sure their specific thing is a concern and I lack the ECC comprehension to speak 10:22 < harding> with any authority about the subject. If someone here is interested in helping them out, the discussion starts at https://github.com/lightningnetwork/lnd/pull/7231#issuecomment-1406873041 10:48 < sipa> I commented. 10:52 < harding> sipa: thanks! 12:00 -!- halosghost [~halosghos@user/halosghost] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 12:02 -!- halosghost [~halosghos@user/halosghost] has joined #secp256k1 12:40 -!- tromp [~textual@92-110-219-57.cable.dynamic.v4.ziggo.nl] has joined #secp256k1 13:52 < real_or_random> sipa: it seems that MSVC doesn't like you 13:52 < sipa> real_or_random: Indeed. My theory is that having an extern function whose address is equal to a static internal one doesn't work. I've added a commit to address that. 13:53 < sipa> Oh, in a broken way. 13:54 < real_or_random> okay I was referring to your fix but apparently noone likes you now ^^ 13:54 < halosghost> rude ☺ 13:55 < real_or_random> compilers can be rude 13:56 < sipa> Pushed again. 13:56 < halosghost> real_or_random: this is a well-documented fact 13:56 < sipa> It's also very understandable. https://xkcd.com/371/ 13:57 < halosghost> ☺ 14:20 -!- tromp [~textual@92-110-219-57.cable.dynamic.v4.ziggo.nl] has quit [Quit: My iMac has gone to sleep.
