I am currently working on adding FROST support (pr #278: https://github.com/BlockstreamResearch/secp256k1-zkp/pull/278/) to secp256k1-zkp. Unfortunately, the CI is currently failing for this PR (and even on older commits) due to the compiler flag -Werror=unterminated-string-initialization (introduced in the newer GCC/Clang versions). But the upstream bitcoin-core/secp256k1 has already address this issue (commit: 02:48 < beulah> https://github.com/bitcoin-core/secp256k1/commit/fa67b6752d8ba3e4c41f6c36b1c6b94a21770419). Given this, my plan is to work on issue #301 (https://github.com/BlockstreamResearch/secp256k1-zkp/issues/301), so we can bring in the upstream fixes and stabilize CI and then come back to PR 278. 02:48 < beulah> If preferred, I can also open a small focused pr that simply backports the upstream string-init changes to unblock CI immediately, independent of the larger rebase. 02:48 < beulah> Does that approach sound right? Any guidance or pointers would be very much helpful! 02:48 < beulah> Thanks in advance! 02:48 < beulah> - Beulah 02:48 < corebot> https://github.com/bitcoin-core/secp256k1/issues/301 | bugfix: don't blow up on "ARG_CHECK(ctx != NULL)" by theuni · Pull Request #301 · bitcoin-core/secp256k1 · GitHub 03:41 < real_or_random> beulah: we have a script for rebasing here: https://github.com/BlockstreamResearch/secp256k1-zkp/blob/master/contrib/sync-upstream.sh but it will be a mess because we have to merge the musig module (we had an older version and -zkp before it was PR'ed to libsecp256k1), and I can imagine that this is better left to jonas and/or me who have worked on the module. but yeah, we should do this at some point. 03:42 < real_or_random> the string-init change seems focused enough so that it could be addressed independent of a larger rebase. this sounds better to me 05:13 < beulah> real_or_random Got it, thanks for clarifying! that makes sense. 05:14 < sipa> hi beulah! 05:15 < beulah> : Hi Pieter!
