03:16 < maaku> kanzure: do you know of any way to implement even simple, trivial covenants in bitcoin?
03:17 < maaku> I'm looking to implement a spend-to-itself covenant where anyone can include it in a transaction so long as the same scriptPubKey is included in an output
03:18 < maaku> seems almost doable with SINGLE|ANYONECANPAY

04:27 < fenn> L29Ah: seems like it's just a hype cycle refresh of ideological warfare
04:27 < fenn> battle for hearts and minds, yadda yadda
04:27 < fenn> US is losing
04:28 < fenn> DoD seems to have a buzzword addiction
04:32 < fenn> weaponized memes sounds funny until your society falls apart
04:35 < fenn> from the nato doc, "Trust is the target - Cognitive warfare pursues the objective of undermining trust (public trust in electoral processes, trust in institutions, allies, politicians...)."
04:36 < fenn> sounds familiar
04:44 < fenn> this grayzone article makes it seem like big bad nato has suddenly invented the concept and will now proceed to use it to take over the world. but really it has been used for decades by all sides
04:44 < fenn> the report is explaining the current understanding of the domain of war
05:20 < fenn> .title https://www.amazon.com/dp/b010e12ynk
05:20 < saxo> No title found
05:20 < fenn> MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X Electronic Earmuff (under helmet version)
05:20 < fenn> anyone tried this brand of active hearing protection? it has some interesting reviews
05:21 < fenn> "Compresses harmful noise to 82dB. Amplifies safe noise x 4 times" "AUX input and AUX-cable for connection to external radios"
05:22 < yashgaroth> not that brand myself, but sordins are well-respected in the genre
05:22 < fenn> supposedly 600 hours on 2 AAA batteries, but even the reported 120 hours is impressive
05:23 < fenn> it better be well respected for $300
05:23 < fenn> i'm more interested in what it's like subjectively with the compression of the loudness spectrum, including amplification of quiet noises
05:24 < fenn> "it can be a bit distracting to be able to distinctly hear people a over a hundred feet away while trying to talk to people right in front of you"
05:25 < yashgaroth> they definitely work for that, though you do get a decent amount of baseline white noise
05:26 < fenn> "Electronics and audio is not as good as ProEars. MSA electronics are hyper sensitive. Attempts to attenuate everything. Audio level is constantly and very quickly going up and down. Most users will never notice this. Long time ProEars owners will.
05:28 < yashgaroth> the amplification of quiet sounds is secondary to blocking gunfire without making you deaf all the time, so if that's not a concern then I imagine there's a more refined system out there of basically just earbuds and microphones with some electronic intermediary
05:28 < fenn> i am interested in both
05:29 < fenn> probably i will end up making my own, but i'm curious as to what is available
05:29 < yashgaroth> basically a hearing aid that doesn't blow your eardrums out when someone shouts at you
05:29 < yashgaroth> I've got some howard leights and they work pretty good, you definitely notice an improvement w/ peltors and sordins but ehhhh money
05:30 < fenn> it would be nice to have the same earmuffs for use as both hearing protection and noise cancelling headphones
05:30 < fenn> is that even a product class?
05:31 < fenn> transhumanist audio amplification is a bonus
05:32 < fenn> it seems like there's a general principle of having control over your audio, but instead there are individual use case products
05:35 < yashgaroth> I mean you can plug your phone into the 3.5mm jack on any of the above and play music, if that fits
05:36 < fenn> not really because it's not doing noise cancellation
05:37 < fenn> just dB reduction
05:38 < yashgaroth> yeah...it's been like 20 years since I've worn noise-cancelling headphones so I forget the effect, do they pass-through voice pretty well?
05:39 < fenn> yes, which is a minus for most people
05:39 < fenn> supposedly they have gotten better
05:39 < fenn> it's a Hard Problem (tm)
05:41 < yashgaroth> I do remember the white-noise hiss, but it was on an airplane which is probably an ideal use case for them
05:41 < yashgaroth> but yeah I doubt there's a cross-over product
05:42 < yashgaroth> oh no gnusha has been dead for a week
05:42 < fenn> aw man
