ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS AND THEIR EFFECT ON ANIMAL
BEHAVIOR AND ENDOCRINOLOGY; A RESEARCH BIBLIOGRAPHY
When reviewing the
research bibliography below, keep in mind that the studies use
a wide range of pulsed electromagnetic frequencies.
Therefore,
It
is VERY IMPORTANT to differentiate between effects of
frequencies below 15 Hz (low Beta-rhythm brainwave state =
FOCUSED - NO STRESS) and those above 15 Hz (mid Beta-Rhythm
brainwave state or higher) resulting in negative behavioral
modification and (at 20 Hz or greater) stress chemical
synthesis. You'll see the pattern as you read down the page.
Nearly
every
therapeutic PEMF system available throughout the world has all
or most programs above the 15 Hz threshold which we feel is a
huge mistake. Although PEMF studies show enhanced rates of
healing at a wide range of frequencies (even 50/60 Hz for
bone), the "sweet" spot for physiological healing
is 10 Hz, plain and simple as proven by the Eastern European
researchers in the 1970's and 1980's; and in NASA/Goodwin's
landmark study that confirmed in 2003 proving 4x baseline
neural tissue regeneration at 10 Hz.
Further studies on the mitochondria find hugely beneficial
effects at 10 Hz even after chronic stimulation for 30
days as shown by David Hood back in 1989. Mitochondria subject
to power frequency have less than control survival rates when
subject to hypoxic shock (no oxygen). Based upon historical
data, we believe it makes no sense whatsoever to use higher
frequencies for ANY therapeutic purpose while trying to limit
exposure to higher-frequency
EMF from all sources including wireless networks which
should be abandoned in favor of network cable. Switching
on/off a wireless for using a laptop at times is o.k. but this
laptop currently in use to author this piece is cabled to its
modem...(the wireless router unplugged). Cordless office
system in use but handset used only in speaker phone mode.(we
pace too much when on the phones so wired phones are 'out'.
